Round Table on AI

As part of the Erasmus+ project “From EGOcentrism to ECOcentrism – A Future Changing Path”, our school hosted a round table titled “Technology – Challenges and Opportunities”, bringing together educators from Croatia and Spain to share their experiences and insights. The event featured teachers Eva Torres Vilajoana and Natàlia Muñoz Domínguez from Institut Alexandre de Riquer in Calaf, Spain, and Mato Matijević and Nataša Čurić from OŠ Eugena Kvaternika, Croatia. The conversation explored how technology is currently integrated into classrooms, how subject areas shape digital tool choices, and how AI technologies like ChatGPT are beginning to impact learning. Participants discussed which digital practices have most transformed their teaching and debated the role of AI in education—its potential to personalize learning versus concerns about screen dependency and ethical challenges. A significant focus was on student engagement—how to move beyond passive content consumption and foster critical, creative use of digital tools. International collaboration was another key theme: how technology bridges cultural gaps and supports environmental consciousness, aligning with the core values of our Erasmus+ project. The session concluded with reflections on future classrooms—envisioning spaces enriched with adaptive technologies yet grounded in human connection. Each educator offered heartfelt advice to peers feeling overwhelmed by tech changes, emphasizing community, adaptability, and a learner-centered approach. This recorded event serves as a valuable resource for all educators interested in responsibly integrating technology in teaching, with the aim of fostering both academic growth and ecological awareness.
